KEA
Electronics, a northern California distributor of electro-mechanical
and passive components was formed in March, 1973, is located
in San Ramon, California.
Our
company was formed with one concept in mind: Service to the
customer above and beyond our competition. KEA has always
strived to be innovative and one-step ahead of the competition.
For example:
In
the 1970’s our competitors relied only on Purchasing departments.
At KEA we had sales engineers who worked hand in hand with
our customer’s engineers to provide alternate sourcing or
new design solutions. Today our competitors have started to
staff similar people, calling them FAE’s (Field Application
Engineers).
In
the early and mid 1980’s our competitors only focused on mass
numbers of customers. We chose to work one-on-one with our
customers to learn as much as we could about their manufacturing
problems in order to provide better solutions. This resulted
in value added assemblies and modified forms of kitting. Today
our competition calls that partnering.
Beginning
in 1990, KEA identified its next step towards customer satisfaction.
We all know that manufacturing is not an exact science. A
shortage of material, a change in production scheduling, even
the weather can have an impact on manufacturing cycles. With
an emphasis on reduced inventories, it is imperative that
distributors meet "on time deliveries". For the past 6 years
KEA has had a dedicated customer service department that "pre-expedites"
every order to assure on time delivery. This identifies any
potential delivery problems long before they become a problem.
It has been extremely successful judging by all the letters
we have received from customers. We just wonder what our competition
will call it 5 years from now.
